Project Description: This project details acoustic telemetry receivers deployed in Cape Fear, Northeast Cape Fear, Black, and Brunswick rivers of North Carolina. This array is maintained by the North Carolina Division of Marine Fisheries (NCDMF) with assistance from researchers at the University of North Carolina-Wilmington. Acoustic telemetry receivers were first deployed in February of 2011 for a project researching Atlantic and shortnose sturgeon migration. This array has been revised and maintained through multiple projects and research grants. Current funding and maintenance is housed under the NCDMF Multi-species Tagging Program.

Objectives:

Track movements of anadromous fish and marine species in North Carolina's coastal waters.
