Project Description: NCBO is deploying buoys to track hypoxia in different locations of the Chesapeake Bay. These buoys will measure dissolved oxygen (DO) levels in the water column. Monitoring and analyzing changes in DO, along with information on how different fish use the Bay, helps scientists to evaluate the effects low DO (hypoxia) has on important species. The goal of this project is to help scientists track DO levels over time that could lead to improvements in the health of the Bay for all species.
