Project Description: Little tunny are a highly valued recreational sportfish in Massachusetts, but little is known about their habits, movements, and residency in this region. We endeavor to better understand the ecology of this species in Nantucket Sound, MA (around Cape Cod, Martha's Vineyard, and Nantucket) and adjacent coastal waters. We also hope to potentially gain insight into their population structure throughout the northwest Atlantic in collaboration with other researchers. We are also investigating post-release survival in the recreational fishery.
