Project Title: Examining the estuary - ocean connections of summer flounder in New Jersey

Project Description: This project aims to investigate the seasonal distribution of summer flounder between New Jersey estuaries and the continental shelf, as well as potential inter-estuary connectivity. 60 V13-1x acoustic tags will be deployed in summer flounder from May - September in 2024 and 2025. Tags will be deployed in three New Jersey estuaries: Barnegat Bay n = 20, Great Bay / Little Egg Harbor n = 20, Avalon Bay n = 20. Acoustic receivers gate fish passage at each estuary inlet in New Jersey to monitor the timing of immigration of emigration.
